Drop-in

crafts Since the beginning of the Mikilaaq Centre, one of its most popular projects remains the drop-in.Varying year after year according to the staff and financial resources available, the drop-in has been open for two to five nights a week during the fall and winter months. This year (2004/2005) the Centre is open 2 nights a week and is being operated without government financial assistance. All workers are volunteers; Ramon, Lisa-Jo & Jeff, Nanorak, Reanne, music cornerJenny & Dana, Jolene, Leon, Nadine, and Lynne. Many of the older kids are also helping out. The canteen has been our sole source of revenue helping us to pay for fuel, water and sewage services, electricity and phone bills. We have not been able to make any improvement or upgrades to the games but have maintained pretty well the same activities except the pool and foosball tournaments. The Mikilaaq Centre still offers: pool, foosball, ping-pong or table hockey, crafts, music, computers, or simply a fun and safe place to hang out.

drop-inAs well as the drop-in, the Mikilaaq Centre has offered a photography basics course. A professional photographer visited us last fall, giving us tips on how to buy the right camera, take care of a camera and photography.
